AIADMK version lists complete constituency allocation

According to an official release from the AIADMK, the 27 seats of the BJP include urban, western, delta and south constituencies including Mylapore, Aavadi, Thiruvannamalai, Thiruvarur, Thiruvarur, Madurai South, Ramaanathapuram, Nagercoil, Colachel and Padmanabhapuram. The PMK’s 18-seat allotment includes Dharmapuri, Pennagaram, Salem West, Salem North, Vikravandi, Sholingur, Thirupporur, Uthiramerur, Perambur and Ambattur, among others, reflecting its spread in the northern and western districts.AMMK has been allotted 11 seats including Mannargudi, Karaikudi, Nanguneri, Tiruchirappalli West, Saidapet and Poonamallee (R).TMC bagged five seats – Ottanchatram, Erode West, Ranipet, Kiliyur and Kumbakonam – while IJK will contest from Pallavaram and Kunnam.TMMK has been allotted Rajapalayam and Puratchi Bharatham has been allotted Keezhvaithinankuppam (R).

Alliance arithmetic strengthens AIADMK’s anti-DMK strategy

The seat-sharing announcement is significant as it provides a clear electoral structure to the AIADMK-led NDA, which is expected to fight a high-stakes contest against the ruling DMK-led alliance. The AIADMK announcement comes a day after the party general secretary assumed office Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) announced the party’s election manifesto, marking the party’s current shift from alliance mode to comprehensive campaign mode.Palaniswami released a manifesto of 297 promises on Tuesday, with welfare measures at the center of his campaign.Among its major promises, the AIADMK promised to provide monthly assistance of Rs 2,000 to women heads of households under the proposed ‘Kula Vilakku Scheme’, which will be directly deposited into the bank accounts of women in households holding ration cards. The party also promised special assistance of Rs 10,000 to each family, saying the measure was aimed at relieving the burden of rising prices and increased taxes under the ruling DMK government.Tamil Nadu will go to single-phase polls on April 23 and counting of votes is scheduled for May 4.
