‘Smart decision’: Ex-Bengal governor says reasons for resignation will remain secret until ‘right time’

New Delhi: Ananda Bose, who resigned as West Bengal governor after abruptly resigning, on Sunday said the move was a “conscious decision” even as he remained tight-lipped on the reasons for his exit.Bose said the reasons for his resignation would remain “confidential until the appropriate time comes.”Bose told reporters at Kolkata airport that he would, however, return to Bengal to vote.Bose, a native of Kerala, shifted his poll base to Bengal less than a week before resigning.“I made a conscious decision to submit my thesis, the reasons for which will remain confidential until the right time comes,” Boss said.“The rules of the game include knowing when it’s over,” he added.Bose did not respond directly when asked to comment on President Drupadi Murmu’s concerns over alleged protocol violations and tribal dispossession in the state.The former Bengal governor said: “The president is very experienced, balanced and a very dignified person. She definitely has her reasons for saying these things. But I have no one to comment on what the president said.”President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday expressed strong displeasure after the TMC-ruled West Bengal government changed the venue of an event she was supposed to attend.
