Cloud-based team communication platform Slack appeared to be unable to serve thousands of users on Wednesday. On DownDetector, which tracks outages, more than 3,000 people complained of problems.
Some users complained that they were unable to open attachments, while some also complained that they were having issues with messaging. Most people noted that the mobile version of the app worked well for them.
“Cannot edit/delete message. Attachments are not displayed correctly,” one user commented on the DownDetector page. Another added, “Desktop app not receiving messages, phone app works fine for me.” On X, several people also commented on the outage.
“Feeling low is a sign of coming home,” one joke. other additional “Relax during your shift. Perfect!!”.
Slack also addressed the issue in a series of complaints. On the status report page, it states that “Slack engineering teams are currently investigating severe delays affecting all Slack services. We will provide an update as soon as we have more information to share and apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
The messaging service said severe delays were affecting all of its services. It is not yet clear what causes the same.
