Savannah Guthrie recalls missing mom Nancy in emotional Mother’s Day tribute, ‘We will never stop looking for you’

“But recently, in my own time of trial, I’ve wondered and questioned whether Jesus actually experienced this particular wound that I felt,” she said. “This is a severe and unique cruelty caused by ignorance, uncertainty, confusion and lack of answer.”

“In those darkest moments,” she added, “I thought painfully, perhaps irreverently, that I had stumbled upon a feeling that Jesus did not know.”

Months after Nancy went missing, there has been no update on her whereabouts, and no suspects have been found. While the Guthrie family has been racked by the uncertainty of the case’s outcome, Savannah has even previously acknowledged that her mother may be dead.

Savannah previously said in the video that she and her relatives “still believe in miracles” and “still believe she can come home,” and she also admitted her mother may be “gone.”

“She may have gone back to the Lord she loved and is dancing in heaven with her mom, her dad, her beloved brother Pierce and our dad,” Savannah said. “If that’s what it is, then we’ll accept that. But we need to know where she is. We need her home.”
