New Delhi: Russian state-run nuclear company Rosatom through its subsidiary JSC Engineering and Technology Center “ETC GET” has announced a pilot training program for Indian nuclear industry experts. The program has been developed in strategic collaboration with IIT Bombay and engineering solutions company ProSIM Bangalore. The first trial will be held from April 15 to 17 at IIT Bombay. The program will focus on training in nuclear power plant simulators and digital twin technologies to support hands-on learning and operational understanding. The initiative is aimed at meeting the growing demand for skilled professionals in India’s nuclear energy sector, a Rosatom statement said.ETC GET brings experience in nuclear power plant simulators and digital twin technology, ProSIM contributes capabilities in physics-based modeling and safety analysis, and IIT Bombay brings academic expertise in nuclear science and engineering disciplines.India’s nuclear energy roadmap foresees a significant expansion of installed capacity by 2047, which will require thousands of trained nuclear experts every year. However, current training capacity can only provide a limited number of qualified professionals each year, highlighting serious gaps in labor supply. “This pilot training demonstrates Rosatom’s commitment to supporting India’s nuclear workforce development. In addition to advanced technology, establishing the ability to operate nuclear infrastructure safely and efficiently is critical to the long-term growth of the industry. ” said the ETC GET representative.Rosatom continues to develop cooperation with India across the entire nuclear value chain, supporting long-term partnerships in energy and technology, including the ongoing Kudankulam Unit 3 and 4 projects and future small modular reactor collaboration.electronic nicotine delivery system
