New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh Senior Defense Ministry officials chaired a review meeting on Tuesday to assess the crisis situation in West Asia and said there was a need to learn lessons from the conflict to improve the country’s defense preparedness.Rajnath was briefed on the global and regional security situation, the impact of the current escalation of conflicts on India, and the challenges and opportunities posed by the current geopolitical situation. The minister directed continuous study of operational and technical points of current conflicts to improve India’s defence. “We need to formalize a comprehensive and comprehensive roadmap for the next ten years, taking into account the lessons learned, future challenges and opportunities while ensuring Aatmanirbharta and operational readiness on all fronts,” he said. The meeting was attended by Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan, Indian Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Amar Preet Singh, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Naval Staff General Dinesh Tripathi, Chairman of Defense Research and Development Organization Sameer Kamat, and Defense Minister Rajesh Kumar Singh. The review meeting also examined the impact of the crisis on defense equipment procurement and production supply chain management, including the maintenance and serviceability of existing equipment.Rajnath’s security review meeting comes just two days after the Cabinet Security Committee discussed the situation arising from the conflict in West Asia and conducted a detailed assessment of critical supplies for the general population, including food, energy and fuel security.Last week, Rajnath praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ability and foresight to “protect” India from the ripple effects of global instability and asserted that India remained secure despite escalating conflicts in West Asia. The minister also backed the Prime Minister’s stance that “war is not the solution” and called for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the issue. “When the world falls into war, no country can survive alone. India could have been affected in such times as well, but our Prime Minister, through his competence, capability and vision, ensured that the country did not fall into such a crisis,” he said.
