Prime Minister Modi visits Assam tea gardens, picks tea leaves, takes selfies with workers, calling it an “unforgettable experience”

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi He visited a tea garden before holding two public rallies in Assam’s Dibrugarh on Wednesday.He described tea as “the soul of Assam”. “Tea is the soul of Assam! Tea here has spread all over the world. This morning I visited a tea garden in Dibrugarh and interacted with the women working here. It was a very unforgettable experience,” PM Modi wrote on X, sharing photos from the visit. “We are extremely proud of the efforts of each tea garden family. Their hard work and perseverance enhance the pride of Assam. Here are more glimpses of the Dibrugarh tea gardens,” he added.Prime Minister Modi also shared a selfie with a woman working in a tea garden.According to the Assam portal, the state produces about 630-700 million kilograms of tea every year, accounting for more than half of India’s total production. PM Modi holds rally in Assam According to his schedule, the Prime Minister will first address a rally at Gogamukh in Dhemaji at 11 am and then hold a second public meeting in Biswanath district around 1 pm. Senior BJP leaders and state ministers are expected to attend both the events.

In the first rally, the Prime Minister will campaign for the BJP candidates Ranoj Pegu and Naba Kumar Doley from Dhemaji and Dhakuakha assembly constituencies. At his second rally in Behari, he will support party candidate and former minister Pallab Lochan Das. All 126 assembly seats in Assam will go to polls on April 9 and counting of votes is scheduled to take place on May 4, while counting of votes in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Kerala and the Union Territory of Puducherry will also take place during the same period.
