UPS SurePost and UPS Mail Innovations may face one-day delays due to the USPS shutdown.
The holiday was originally created in 1879 to celebrate George Washington’s birthday. It was originally celebrated on February 22, which is also his actual birthday. In 1971, the date was moved to the third Monday in February as part of a law that changed some dates federal holidaysto Monday.
