New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva at Hyderabad House. Prior to this, Silva was given a ceremonious welcome ahead of his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday. President Murmu and Prime Minister Modi warmly welcomed the arrival of the Brazilian President.Discussions are expected to focus on securing supplies of critical minerals, expanding bilateral trade and strengthening strategic supply chains as India looks to reduce its dependence on China and deepen ties with its resource-rich partner.External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also welcomed the Brazilian President’s state visit.
Jaishankar wrote onDuring his state visit from February 18 to 22, President Lula participated in the second Artificial Intelligence Impact Summit.President Drupadi Murmu will also host a banquet for him. Vice President Radhakrishnan is also expected to call on President Lula.This is President Lula’s sixth visit to India. President Lula was accompanied by a large delegation of approximately 14 ministers and top CEOs of Brazilian companies.
