PM Modi to launch NDA Assembly polls campaign at Kochi Assembly

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the NDA’s mega campaign convention here on March 11, which will be attended by around 50,000 people, a senior BJP leader said on Monday.Prime Minister Modi will attend the convention at the Jawaharlal International Stadium in Kalul, they said.Addressing reporters, BJP general secretary Suresh said the NDA has adopted the slogan “Let change begin, people of Kerala with Modi” for the upcoming assembly elections.The prime minister is expected to arrive at the international airport here at 11.30 am on Wednesday, he said.From there, he will take a helicopter to Marine Drive to attend the golden jubilee celebrations of Akhila Kerala Dheevara Sabha.Suresh said that later, he would attend an official function of the Union government at a stage inside the Kalur Stadium and launch various government initiatives there.“He is expected to arrive at the NDA Assembly between 1 pm and 1.30 pm. The Prime Minister will receive a warm reception and will hold a roadshow as he continues to attend official functions,” the leader said.He added that the roadshow will start from the stadium entrance and extend to government function venues, and will be attended by more than 10,000 party workers.Claiming that PM Modi’s event in Kochi will be a game-changer in national politics, he said that all prominent NDA leaders, including BJP national president Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Twenty20 president Sabu M Jacob and BDJS supremo Thushar Vellaappally, among others, will be present at the event.Senior BJP leader AN Radhakrishnan, who attended the press conference, said that this will be the first NDA conference after the alliance’s expansion, marking a new step in the history of the alliance.He added that currently around 12 prominent political parties have become part of the NDA.Replying to a question, Suresh criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming that his remarks reflected an admission of failure.He also said the prime minister’s speech at the event may include special announcements related to the country.
