“This type of violence in a public place is deeply concerning,” the Tucson Police Department said in a statement, noting that the shooting was an isolated incident.
Park Place Mall also released a statement to the publication, saying “the safety of our guests, employees and community remains our top priority. We would like to thank the Tucson Police Department for their quick response to yesterday’s incident.”
The shooting occurred in the mall’s food court, prompting people to evacuate. The recent incident caused a backlash from many as the alleged video was widely shared.
