Pam Bondi shooting brawl: Eric Swalwell clarifies reports of Christine Fang ‘whistleblowing’; mocks Trump

the president has fired Attorney General Pam Bondi Thursday. Trump removed her from office, reportedly because he was dissatisfied with her work and because he believed Bundy disclosed FBI plans to Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell. However, Swalwell strongly denied this claim.

What is Swalwell saying?

When a CNN reporter asked Swalwell directly whether Bondi had tipped him off about an investigation related to alleged Chinese spies, his response was blunt.

“No, absolutely not. The fact that the president tweeted about this at 4:45 a.m. yesterday is ridiculous,” Swalwell said.

“We are at war again, and the FBI is focused on interfering with my leading California gubernatorial race, when they should only be focusing on their homeland. They should only be focused on lowering gas prices and protecting their homeland,” he added.

In a separate interview with MS Now, Swalwell was equally dismissive of the claims. “We were not tipped off by the attorney general,” he said, adding that the story became public because FBI agents notified The Washington Post themselves.

“No one around her tipped us off. It was FBI agents who tipped off the Washington Post because they saw Kash Patel and Donald Trump trying to interfere in the California gubernatorial campaign that I have been leading.”

Micah Beasley, a spokesman for Swalwell’s gubernatorial campaign, also flatly denied any government contact. “No one in the government warned us. None,” Beasley said. He called the stories “ridiculous, if not outrageous,” and accused the government of “trying to blame anyone but the right people, themselves.”

Why was Bundy fired?

Pam Bundy was removed from office for a number of reasons. Many politicians say President Trump is frustrated with her overall performance, particularly her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein dossier and her failure to go after political opponents.

A senior Trump administration source told new york post This decision has been planned for some time and has nothing to do with Eric Swalwell.

“The president has been considering this change for a long time,” the source said, adding that Trump still respected Bondi personally but was not satisfied with her job. Earlier reports also confirmed that Bundy mishandled Epstein’s files, leading to Trump’s frustration.

Christine Fang Relationship

At issue is Eric Swalwell’s past relationship with Christine Fang, also known as “Fang Fang,” a suspected Chinese intelligence operative. according to mediaBetween 2011 and 2015, Fong built relationships with California politicians, helped raise money for Swalwell’s 2014 congressional campaign and even placed an intern in his office.

Swalwell was never charged with any wrongdoing related to Fang. After federal agents warned him, he immediately terminated all contact with her. The House Ethics Committee later closed its investigation after an FBI investigation resulted in no charges. Federal officials say Chinese operatives like Fang often focus on building long-term influence through personal networks rather than committing immediate crimes.

Although the case has been closed, FBI Director Kash Patel is reportedly personally interested in releasing documents regarding Swalwell’s past dealings with Fang. Swalwell called it politically motivated and sent a cease-and-desist letter to Patel’s office, saying it was “a clear attempt to discredit him and undermine his campaign for California governor.”
