Officials’ dissatisfaction with Bundy stems in part from an incident early in her tenure. At the time, she entered a secure area of the Justice Department’s National Security Division and noticed portraits of President Joe Biden and former Attorney General Merrick Garland still hanging.

“I took all three photos myself,” she added. “I put them in front of a guy and someone said to me, ‘Oh, maintenance is really slow here.’ I said, ‘Well, it took me about 30 seconds to get them off the wall.'”
Bundy cited the incident as an example of what she sees as political bias among career employees. However, she did not publicly mention that Devin DeBacker, an official who served as acting head of national security, was demoted after the incident.

It’s been some time since Pam Bondi was reportedly fired, and tensions have been rising over a number of issues. Her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein documents also added to the pressure, as her contradictory comments sparked calls for transparency and reportedly added to Trump’s frustration.
