sri lanka fast bowler Nuvanto Salad has withdrawn his case against Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), ending the high-profile controversy over his participation in the 2026 IPL.Tushara had earlier filed a case in the Colombo Magistrate’s Court after the SLC refused to issue him a no-objection certificate (NOC), which is a mandatory requirement for Sri Lankan players to participate in overseas leagues such as the IPL. The board denied him permission because he failed to meet newly introduced fitness standards. Why did Tushara go to court? The SLC refused to grant IPL 2026 NOC status to Tushara as he failed to meet the board’s mandatory fitness standards, specifically not achieving the required score in the 2km running test. The pacer, who has played around 30 T20I matches for Sri Lanka since making his debut in 2022, challenged the decision, arguing that the rejection was unfair and severely affected his career chances. With most of the IPL season already over, there is no longer any practical value in continuing the case. The court subsequently dismissed the case on his request.apology and reconciliationIn a major development, Tushara also apologized to the SLC and expressed its willingness to end the dispute. The move marks his attempt to mend ties with the national committee after weeks of tension.Nuwan Suchhara was hired by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 160 crore ahead of IPL 2026.
