‘Now that’s queerbait’: Harry Styles accidentally kisses male comedian to complete ‘Saturday Night Live’ monologue

Harry Styles Turning the SNL stage into his own cheeky retort, he poked fun at years of “queerbaiting” accusations and ended the joke with an unexpected on-stage kiss with comedian Ben Marshall.According to Page Six, the former One Direction singer said of the claims: “At the time, people seemed focused on what I was wearing, with some accusing me of ‘queerbaiting.'” The claim is defined as using queer aesthetics without identifying as LGBTQ+. “But have you ever thought: you don’t know everything about me, Dad!” he added.Styles, 32, said he was “very bored” and “people pretended to find him [his hobbies] Interesting” because he’s a celebrity.“It’s better than the alternative,” the pop star joked, as the screen showed the infamous paparazzi snap of the former Prince Andrew after he was released from prison last month for his relationship with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.Styles says he’s “thrilled” to be back at work with his new album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.“What’s better than kissing all the time? I’m not actually doing that – I’m not kissing all the time,” comedian Chloe Fineman, who appeared behind Watermelon Sugar, said before walking away disappointed.“Sometimes, kissing can be great,” Styles added, “you know, if you’re really good at kissing and you’re a good person,” before comedian Sarah Sherman appears and then walks away.“Or if you have a tight little butt,” the “Late Night Talk” singer continued as Marshall, 30, took to the stage.After the comedian and Styles joked about Marshall’s “carriage in the back,” they turned to each other and kissed on the lips.“This is queer baiting,” the three-time Grammy winner said with a wink.In 2022, Styles slammed claims of “queerbaiting” after fans noticed he only publicly dated women — including Oliva Wilde, Taylor Swift and now Zoë Kravitz.“I don’t think I’m publicly with anyone,” he told Rolling Stone at the time. “If someone takes a picture of you with someone, it doesn’t mean you’re choosing to have a public relationship or anything.”
