Ahead of India’s much-anticipated T20 World Cup final against the New Zealand national cricket team in Ahmedabad, Jasprit Bumrah High praise from one of the greatest names in fast bowling, James Anderson. Former England pacer becomes first fast bowler in history to reach 600 Test wickets, praises banglaHas exceptional skills and describes his bowling as something truly unique. As India enters the pinnacle with momentum, Bumrah plays a key role in the knockout stages of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The Indian speedster played a crucial role in a do-or-die moment in the semi-final against England Cricket Team at the Wankhede Stadium. Bumrah conceded just 14 points in the final two overs as the match turned into a high-scoring thriller. The nail-biting match turned out to be decisive as India ended up narrowly winning by 253 runs with their seventh straight win.See also: India vs New Zealand 2026 T20 World Cup Live Score
Prior to this, Bumrah also played a decisive role in India’s must-win match against West Indies Cricket at the Eden Gardens. In a crucial round, he dismissed two men Himron Heitmeyer and Roston Chase, preventing Caribbean from scoring a higher total and keeping India firmly in contention. Speaking on the BBC Podcast, Anderson admitted that Bumrah’s ability is so good that it may be difficult for other bowlers to replicate his performance. “The thing about Bumrah is, I looked at him and thought, I don’t think you can learn anything from him. Like, he’s an absolute freak. There’s no bowler in the world, male or female, who can bowl six yorkers and be absolutely successful every time. Even one of those yorkers, he bowled [vs England] His final over was a slow ball. So he beat five fast-ball yorkers and one slow-ball yorker like you couldn’t hit them anywhere,” Anderson effusively praised Bumrah. Anderson also pointed out that England’s batsmen dealt with Bumrah as best they could, choosing to play him cautiously rather than risk chasing him. The veteran also believes players like Jacob Bethell and Sam Curran made the right decisions by simply trying to survive Bumrah’s passing rather than targeting him. “England did really well and got six points [balls] Leave the hole as they squeeze the ball out. They actually played well because they thought we knew we couldn’t get out of his bounds, or it would be hard to get out of his bounds. “So we’ll take our chances at the other end against the other two. They saw Shivam Dube bowling for 22 in the last over and Jofra Archer hit him. I knew the game was over then but he tried to bowl a yorker and missed quite a few chances. So it’s just a ridiculous skill. There’s no one or certainly no one better than him in T20 cricket,” Anderson explained. With such huge praise from a fast bowling legend like Anderson, Bumrah will go into the final with even more confidence as India look to lift the T20 World Cup trophy.
