Some unsubstantiated accounts compare Reynolds’ appearance to that of the masked suspect captured on Guthrie’s home camera. However, a former FBI Agents have now clarified the matter and explained why Reynolds, who is suspected of kidnapping others, is not a suspect in the Guthrie investigation.
Former FBI agent Jennifer Cofindaffer has also shared her expertise on the Guthrie case. The 84-year-old went missing from his home in the Catalina Foothills near Tucson, Arizona. Although her family reported her missing on February 1, authorities believe Guthrie was taken away the night before. Video taken from her home showed a masked man wearing gloves at the door. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and FBI consider that man a suspect in the case.

However, it has been more than a month since Guthrie disappeared. Authorities have not found her and have not named a suspect. Therefore, there is a lot of speculation surrounding this case. After news of Reynolds’ charges broke, people began asking questions about where Guthrie was the night he disappeared and if he had any connection to the case.
Amid all this, the former FBI agent tried to quell some rumors by explaining why Pima County Sheriff’s Deputy Travis Reynolds couldn’t be a suspect in Guthrie’s kidnapping.
Coffendaver explained that Reynolds was fired for “attempting to use his position to force a female arrestee to have sex with him.”
She then drew comparisons to Guthrie’s case to show why Reynolds was not a suitable suspect. She noted that the modus operandi or manner in which Reynolds committed his crimes was different from the manner in which Guthrie’s kidnappers committed their crimes. “Whoever kidnapped Nancy Guthrie was wrong,” she commented.
The former FBI agent also noted that footage of the suspect showed the wrong size of the person, as well as the wrong gun and holster for the officer.
Coffendaver added, “The choice of woman was wrong – Nancy is not a MILF. She is a loving grandmother, not a sexy 40-year-old soccer mom type.”
The former FBI agent expressed interest in Reynolds for different reasons, explaining: “I would rather know if he assaulted any other women he arrested. He is a sexual deviant who preys on those over whom he has power in his capacity as an officer. He wants easy prey.”
“I do not believe this 22-year-old is a porch man,” she concluded in her assessment.
