Nancy Guthrie Update: Retired detective reveals circumstances he thinks could have led to ‘big break’

Buhler also recommends checking to see if anyone has Googled Nancy’s address.

“There might be something in there that we’re waiting for.”

“If someone plugs her address into a Google search on Google Maps or anything else, if they do a reverse keyword search on it because those records are kept for a period of time to look at anyone who randomly puts in her address and there’s a reason to do that, then you contact that person and find out why you entered that address,” he explained.

Buehler said depending on the season people are offered, they may be eliminated or may be checked for possible participation.

Buller said he did not believe Nancy survived the attack, but the case could still be solved. He said a key clue may have been buried among the vast number of tips provided.

“When leads come in on cases like Nancy Guthrie’s, they’re prioritized as much as possible, but you’re still not sure if they’re prioritized correctly, so we might be waiting on something that might break it,” Buehler said.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos Previously admitting in an interview with People magazine, the Guthries must be “frustrated” by the lack of answers. However, the answer seems certain to come.

“My team, I’ve always said, they’re going to fix this,” he said. “I believe that absolutely 100 percent. … When you have the best minds in the country working on problems, I think they’re going to solve them. It’s just going to take a while.”
