A so-called blackmail letter has been received in this case, and a second letter was received today. The FBI is assisting with the matter and Director Kash Patel is expected to travel to Tucson, Arizona, to assess the situation.

“It goes without saying that there is a problem with Savannah Guthrie’s story. To be clear, the problem is not Savannah Guthrie,” Owens wrote on X.

She added, “The problem is Arizona is a political cartel. Kash Patel is playing hero there. Praying her mother comes back, we can understand what really triggered this horrific kidnapping.”

Owens’ statement about Arizona fuels online conspiracy theory that Guthrie may be Taken away by drug cartel. A 2009 article in the Los Angeles Times even stated that Phoenix is the kidnapping capital of the United States, most of which are linked to cartels. However, aside from online discussions, there is no information suggesting that drug cartels were involved in Guthrie’s kidnapping.

President Donald Trump sounded hopeful as authorities searched for clues. “I think there’s probably going to be some information coming out very soon from the Department of Justice or the FBI or any other agency that may be definitive. A lot has happened in the last few hours. A lot has happened in the last few hours about this terrible situation,” Trump said on Friday.

Referring to federal support on the issue, Trump added, “I think we’re doing a good job on this. What’s great is we have some leads that I think are very strong and I think we can get some answers.”
