It has been two months since Nancy Guthrie was reported missing by her family on February 1, and she has still not been found. her daughter, Savannah Guthriereturns to host NBC’s “TODAY” as authorities continue to search for the 84-year-old.
In the meantime, TMZ report A new ransom note provides chilling details about the case. Former FBI agent Jennifer Coffendaver also shared her insight into the timing of the note and how it ties into Savannah’s return to the show.
The publication reported that a new note was sent on Monday by those who had been proposing to deport the kidnappers for months. They noted that the demand to “send them” 1 Bitcoin on a silver platter remains, referring to the kidnappers.

The person also claimed they saw Guthrie Living in Sonora, Mexico. Sonora is a large state in Mexico, bordering parts of Arizona and New Mexico. Guthrie’s home in the Catalina Foothills near Tucson, where authorities believe she was taken, is about 70 miles from the border.
The sender also gave no hint that Guthrie was still alive and said in the message, “She is dead,” TMZ reported. Additionally, the sender claimed they had been away from the United States for more than five years and had nothing to do with this “horrible” crime.
Former FBI agent Coffin Duffer shares her insights into the profiles of people sending ransom letters. She warned that a “sick” person chose to send the note on the same day Savannah returned to the “Today” show.
In an article, Coffindaffer wrote “This person says they own her body and only wants half a Bitcoin for information on where Nancy is buried. $34, $842.12. It’s so pathetic that Whacko tortured Savannah after she returned to @TODAYshow.”
In another post, the former FBI agent added, “Make no mistake, the fact that this note was sent on the day Savannah returned to work shows what a disgusting person the sender was, whether or not they knew where Nancy was buried.”
However, the FBI, which is assisting the Pima County Sheriff’s Department in the case, does not appear to have taken the man’s ransom note seriously because there was no money in the Bitcoin account.
