Insider Sends Savannah Guthrie a Tip

Parade reports that a law enforcement insider shared a direct message to Savannah and her family in an interview with NewsNation’s Brian Entin.

“Just explain to Savannah that just because our leadership is incompetent, it doesn’t mean we don’t care… We fully support her and her family in this matter,” the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said.

The remarks pointed to possible internal concerns in the investigation, but it was unclear whether “incompetent leadership” referred to a specific investigator or a broader leadership issue.

Criticism of the Sheriff

The insider also addressed the growing criticism of Chris Nanos, citing the recent vote of no confidence in him.

Jennifer Coffendaver retired FBI agent On April 3, 2026, she shared her thoughts on the Nancy Guthrie investigation on X.

“The FBI knows more behind the scenes than we do so far, but that doesn’t mean they have any answers. 30,000 leads…imagine having 30,000 items on your to-do list?” Coffendaver wrote.

She also cited some of the challenges that make cases difficult to solve. “According to Sheriff Nanos, the DNA has more than 2 signatures – IGG and untraceable ransom notes that according to experts are nearly impossible… at least not yet.”
