An X post featuring an image of a patrol car and a camera mounted on a tripod drew attention, with a user writing: “Um, what happened outside Nancy Guthrie’s house wtf?” The post sparked a flurry of speculation about what authorities and media personnel were doing at the scene.

Claims circulated online

Some commenters provided unsubstantiated descriptions of the situation. One user claimed a man drove by the house “50-100 times, very slowly,” and claimed he had a photo of Guthrie on his phone when a reporter approached him. The commenter added that officers had spoken with the individual for approximately 25 minutes and attributed the information to reporter Brian Entin.

Others believe the images resemble sobriety tests. “Looks like a DUI test. Horizontal gaze and nystagmus going on,” one person wrote, while another commented, “Sobriety test. No doubt about it.”

The search for Guthrie is approaching four weeks. She was last seen on the evening of February 1 outside her home in Catalina.
