Amid the search for Nancy Guthrie, a video of Annie Guthrie, the daughter of an 84-year-old woman who disappeared in 2015, reading a poem titled “Dear Missing” has surfaced on social media. Investigative journalist Jonathan Lee Riches, who goes by the handle @JLRINVESTIGATES on X, shared a post that included a video of Anne reciting the poem, which netizens claimed she had written. “From a poetry reading, 2015. ‘Dear Missing,’” the original post was titled.
JLR writes: “Annie Guthrie read a poem in 2015 called ‘Dear Missing! Where is Nancy Guthrie?’
“The next few poems are from the chorus, the middle section,” Anne said before beginning the poem.
“Dear yearning, a passage in the land, gestures and prominences, but no contact. The currents, rushing, drown out every voice I call into it,” the poem reads.
“The shape of the shore disappears into the count of the sand, the count disappears into the sound. If I could, I would rearrange us, push myself, shell letters, shelve us and let the water emerge within us, just like yours,” it added.
Netizens expressed their opinions in the comments section, with one saying: “Are there clues in that book??” “This reminds me of the TV show Roseanne. Darlene has to read a poem she wrote in front of everyone. It was dark,” wrote another.
“Weird,” one user wrote, while another said, “So weird.”
Many people on X have Questioning Tommaso and Anne’s silenceand wanted to know where they stood in the investigation. While Annie has appeared in some videos about her mother in the past alongside sister Savannah Guthrie, Tommaso has yet to speak out publicly.
Reporter Ashleigh Banfield previously claim Tommaso may have been the “primary suspect” in the case, and authorities quickly announced that no suspects had been identified.
