In a new confessional video, TODAY co-host Savannah Guthrie said her family believed the kidnapped mother was still alive.
While seeking help from the public, Savannah Showing multiple signs of resilience and defiance.
“We are in despair. We are convinced that our mother is still out there. She was kidnapped and we have no idea of her whereabouts,” she said in a video shared on her Instagram account, urging anyone with information to come forward.
“We believe our mother is still out there. We need your help.”
Ransom deadline for Guthrie’s mother’s safe return has reportedly expired, NancyAs Monday passed, officials said they had not yet identified the suspect or persons of interest.
The 84-year-old disappeared from his residence in Tucson, Arizona, in the middle of the night and was last seen on January 31. Authorities suspect she was taken against her will.
The family had previously announced they were willing to pay for her safe return.
Former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer commented on X Savannah’s According to the new clip, the “Today Show” host appeared alone, wearing makeup and jewelry to show her fortitude.
Savannah also discussed prayer extensively, suggesting that her spirits were lifted by the good wishes she received, but as Cofindafer noted, she made no comment about “despicable ransom terrorists.”
She further appealed for the public’s assistance, meaning law enforcement still needs tips from the community to help find Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing for more than a week since her abduction.
Savannah expressed her affection for her younger siblings and said her 84-year-old mother could be anywhere, urging anyone, wherever they are, to report any suspicious activity they may observe.

Nancy was declared missing after missing a Sunday church service on February 1, causing concern among other members.
The family also released three other videos offering to communicate with would-be kidnappers and demanding proof that their mother was still alive.
