a former employee Jimmy Donaldson (mr beastHe has sued his company in federal court, accusing its leadership of misconduct, the BBC reported. Lorrayne Mavromatis claims sexual harassment, sex discrimination and retaliation occurred throughout her tenure.
The case, filed in North Carolina, alleges an unhealthy and stressful work environment for employees, particularly women. Donaldson is also named in the lawsuit, but is not a defendant.
According to the lawsuit, the company had a toxic work culture. Mavromatis alleged that female employees were allegedly not taken seriously in male-dominated company meetings. Inappropriate conversations were common and complaints of harassment were ignored, she said.
She claimed that raising the issue would have adverse consequences. Instead of taking action, she was met with opposition. The complaint alleges that women who speak out face retaliation. Mavrommatis added that this work environment makes it challenging to work freely and safely.

In the lawsuit, Mavromatis described her experience during her pregnancy. She said she was worried about how leadership would react to the news.
She was the first woman to seek maternity benefits. According to her, this adds to the stress.
Mavromatis said she even worked during labor. One of the Slack messages mentioned in the report was a coworker’s request to discuss work ideas on the day she gave birth. She later mentioned that her boss asked her if she could attend a team meeting.
She claimed she was asked to return to work shortly after becoming pregnant. The activity is characterized by long working hours and physical exertion. She also claimed she was asked to go to the shoot shortly after giving birth.
Mavromatis claims she was fired just weeks after taking leave. She was told her position would be cut.
The Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund supports the lawsuit. One representative said such cases were part of a larger trend in workplaces with weak accountability.
A spokesman for Beast Industries dismissed all accusations. The company called the allegations false and misleading. It claims there is substantial evidence to deny the accusations.
