James Paul Gracie (aka Jimmy): 5 Things to Know

1. Gracie is from Elmhurst, IL. He is 20 years old. Grace is in Barcelona during spring break.
2. He is a graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago and is a junior at the University of Alabama.
3. The family noted that Grace was last seen outside the beachfront nightclub Shoko at around 3am on Tuesday. His mother shared on Facebook that Gracie has not returned to the bed and breakfast where he was staying. “He was last seen by his friends in Shoko at around 3am. The friends were leaving but Jimmy stayed,” she added.
4. Gracie’s mother revealed that police are believed to have his phone, but did not elaborate on how they obtained it. According to family members, Gracie was visiting friends who were studying in Barcelona.
5. Gracey is approximately 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, dark pants and a gold rhinestone cross, his mother detailed in a Facebook post.

After news of the disappearance broke, a spokesperson for the University of Alabama responded to the media, saying, “James Paul Gracie is a student at the University of Alabama and is on a personal trip. University of Alabama staff are in contact with the family and those related to them to provide support and assistance in any way possible.”
