Concern sweeps motorists Florida Police received multiple emergency calls and responded quickly after a pickup truck carrying suspected missiles was spotted on a busy interstate.
According to the US “Mirror” report, several people who called 911 saw Ford A truck was driving on Interstate 4 in central Florida with what looked like “two missiles” mounted on the back.
The car was eventually stopped near Plant City, about 25 miles east of Plant City. tampaoperated by the Florida Highway Patrol.
In light of alarming reports from drivers on the highway, officials began assessing potential threats.
Authorities later confirmed the objects were not weapons. The “missiles” were “later identified as plastic devices used for performances and events,” police said in a statement, adding that “everything was determined to be safe.”
While no charges were filed, officials noted the items could have been transported more safely and made “strong recommendations” for safer handling.
Once the risk was eliminated, the soldiers seemed to handle the situation with good humor, posing for photos with the driver and informally calling him “Rocket Man.”
The response on social media was overwhelming. “There is no law on how to transport plastic crop missiles. Leave that guy alone,” one user on X wrote, while some commented with laughing emojis.
In a separate case reported by the same outlet, Florida authorities dealt with a more serious case involving a reckless driver in a Ford F-150.
The driver, identified as Dennis Donald Johnson, allegedly crashed into another vehicle, hit a metal handrail near the bus stop and ended up in a ditch after trying to escape.
Police said they found white residue around his mouth and several cans of electronic dust collectors in the car that receipts showed were purchased shortly before the crash. He was later charged with hit-and-run and driving under the influence.
