‘Many people can be CM’: Siddaramaiah’s son quashes rumors of CM replacement ahead of plebiscite India News

New Delhi: karnataka state assembly MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah has expressed leadership stability ahead of the upcoming civic polls, firmly refuting speculations about a change of chief minister and confirming that the party high command has ruled out the possibility of any shift. As Bidar prepares for the local body elections, he stressed unity, pointing out that there are multiple capable leaders in the Congress while handing ultimate power to Delhi.Responding to post-budget rumors about replacing Siddaramaiah, Yasindra said: “They have been saying this but the high command has given a clear message that there will not be any change in leadership.”He further dismissed such claims, saying: “I see no reason to speculate that there will be a change in leadership.”Elaborating on his position, he pointed out that although there are many capable leaders in the party, this does not mean that a change in leadership is imminent. He said, “There are many leaders in the Congress who should become the chief minister and who can become the chief minister. But the high command has to take a decision now. They have not revealed anything that there will be a change in leadership. So for now, I think their trend will continue for five years.”

Yasindra reiterated on Friday that the party high command had made it clear through internal communications that there would be no change in leadership. “As far as I know, the high command may not have said this publicly, but a clear signal has been given that there will not be any change in leadership. So I believe Siddaramaiah will be the chief minister for five years,” he told reporters in Mysuru.Deputy Chief Minister responds to his remarks DK ShivakumarYasindra, who is seen as a key contender for the chief minister’s post, sarcastically responded, “Yahindra is our high command, let us take what he says with great respect,” while adding that such speculations can only be addressed by the party high command in Delhi. After the Congress government in Karnataka completed half of its term, the power struggle within the party took center stage, reigniting discussions on the alleged power-sharing formula between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar.
