A 36-year-old man has been convicted of using fake Tinder profiles to send a number of men to his ex-partner’s home under false pretenses.Asad Hussain, also known as Ash Hussain, was found guilty at Chester Crown Court of charges involving stalking with serious alarm or distress, assault and failing to comply with a section 49 notice of RIPA.The court heard Hussain created a fake Tinder account using his ex-partner’s photos and personal details. He shared her address, phone number and email with multiple men and invited them to her home under false pretenses.Cheshire Police said at least 18 men turned up at the woman’s address during 2024 and believed they had been invited after matching with her online. She was told she sent messages saying she wanted to take part in a “rape fantasy” and be “manhandled”. They said they were told that if she said “no” it meant she “wanted it more,” the Manchester Evening News reported. On one occasion, several men came to her home that night after receiving similar messages. In another incident, a man forced open the front door after being told it was open, damaging a glass panel.Another person entered the home while the woman’s child was inside, but no physical injuries were reported. The court heard Hussain initially contacted the victim using a false name and later became controlling during their relationship. After the incident, he made multiple attempts to contact her and pressed charges against her family and friends.Police said Hussain took steps to hide his identity, including using a separate phone number and changing vehicle registration details. Police later linked him to the fake account through location data and vehicle records. He was arrested in October 2024 and denied any involvement during interrogation.Hussain was found guilty of charges involving stalking with severe alarm or distress, assault and failing to comply with a RIPA section 49 notice, which is a formal requirement for a person to provide a password for an electronic device.Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Keith Terrill described the case as very disturbing. He said: “Hussein is an extremely cunning man whose sole purpose was to cause maximum harm to the victim and her children, even inciting others to break into her home and sexually assault her.”“At no time did Hussein accept any responsibility for his actions or realize the sheer terror he nearly caused. He repeatedly claimed that he had never met his victims. However, the evidence shows that this was a complete lie.”He added that the victim and her family were shocked by the events.“Understandably, these incidents have left the victim and her children extremely shocked and distressed.“The strength and courage they showed throughout was incredible,” he said. “Thanks to this and the overwhelming support from her daughter, friends and other witnesses, Hussain has been held accountable for her actions.”Hussein was convicted after a nine-day trial. Sentencing is expected at a later date.
