‘Losing Texas values’: Texas high school Bollywood dance video goes viral, MAGA worried about US culture World News

The Texas landscape has become a boiling pot of anti-immigrant sentiment, fueled by the fires of so-called “takeovers” and “invasions” of Indian-American communities. Recently, a video of a Texas school celebration caused an uproar on the Internet, leaving MAGA people worried about the loss of their culture.Trinity High School in Euless, Texas, recently hosted a Bollywood dance party. Homecoming is a long-standing tradition in many high schools in Texas,” read a post on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting that Homecoming is a traditional day for students and involves cultural dances from the land. In the video, high school students can be seen wearing lehenga choli and kurtas, traditional Indian attire, while performing songs from Bollywood movies starring actors Shah Rukh Khan. Many people on the internet are angry about immigrants and are calling for the Indian-American community to be deported as their culture spreads in the country. “Why are these people in Texas and not India? Like I know your personalities are somewhat similar so there might be some confusion but this is getting too ridiculous. Like exchange programs that allow a few foreign students are one thing but create such a large population of foreign students that they start to eclipse their own civilization,” one user on X wrote. “They should be stripped of their nationality and deported for not assimilating,” another called. “Back then, when Texas was still Texas, who could have imagined that Texas high school gymnasiums would be filled with idol-worshipping Indians dancing?” someone questioned. “Where are the parents! Lose Texas values,” one lashed out. The video was filmed at Trinity High School in Euless, Texas, to celebrate their 2025 Culture Day, not Homecoming. The school is known to celebrate the diversity of its students on this day with cultural performances from around the world. “We are here to celebrate every culture of every student. We are here to share and have fun and just celebrate how diverse we are and how amazing we are,” one of the school’s leaders said in a video shared on its YouTube channel. “The best thing about Culture Day is that I not only get to celebrate my culture, but also my friends’ culture,” said a student at the school. On that day, students from countries around the world including South Africa, Tonga and India performed dances. Many people on Reddit pointed out that the school has one of the “most” diverse student populations in the country. School football teams are known to perform the haka, a ceremonial dance of New Zealand’s Maori people, before games. “I attend Trinity College, which is not one of the most diverse high schools in North Texas, but one of the most diverse high schools in the United States. Frankly, no other school in North Texas comes close,” one Reddit user wrote. Celebrations throughout the day are diverse and represent many other cultures. However, a clip of an Indian dance has been circulated online to promote the anti-India rhetoric currently popular in the United States. According to a recent report Internet Infection Research Institute (NCRI) The report titled “How small networks are hijacking the immigration debate” reveals that the weekly volume of anti-India content on X tripled in 2025. Researchers found more than 24,000 posts between January and December 2025, which collectively generated more than 30 million views. Many similar videos have been posted and widely shared on social media forums to fan anti-Indian sentiments across states and create a hostile environment for communities calling for action against the growing demand for deportation of Indians and ban on H-1B visas.
