League of Legends outage update: Thousands complaining about outage; how to fix ‘Unable to complete your request’ issue

League of Legends was reportedly down for thousands of users on Wednesday. As of this writing, DownDetector has logged over 9,000 complaints. According to the website, most problems stem from game launched, while some people complained about server issues.

According to DownDetector, users started experiencing problems at 8:33pm ET. Some voiced their complaints in the comments section and on social media platforms owned by X. Elon Musk. wrote “League of Legends is down every other day right now.”

League of Legends is a free competitive action strategy game video games go through Riot Games. They have not officially addressed the outage. However, DownDetector notes that the number of people facing the problem has dropped significantly. While there were more than 11,000 users at the peak, more than 3,000 users are now facing issues.

Some players protested the closure of League of Legends. “I’m trying to queue up some League of Legends Alam Chaos to fix this,” one user complain.

Many others directed their anger at Riot Games. “Riot Games is trying to stop me from playing self-harm games,” one wrote. “Riot games have the worst matchmaking system I’ve ever seen,” another said, although that wasn’t a direct complaint about the outage.

Meanwhile, one person shared a screenshot showing the issues League of Legends was experiencing during the reported outage.

How to fix “Your request could not be completed” issue

To resolve the “Your request could not be completed because the service is unavailable” issue, you should kill all Riot processes in Task Manager. If this doesn’t work, you should check if the game server is down and try restarting the Riot client.

However, in this case, the issue is reportedly widespread, making it an issue on Riot Games’ side, meaning a fix alone won’t resolve the issue.

At the same time, people began to rejoice at being able to enter League of Legends. One gamer exclaimed “Yes, it works!” on the DownDetector review page. Another added: “ARAM works, let’s invite me.” Another said: “It works but not sure, my friends are not queuing.”
