“It was a very solid match and I think credit goes to him for the set and for coming back strong in the second set. I think I didn’t play freely towards the end of the second set and gave him too many easy shots,” Laksha said.Lakshya fell behind at the start of the match but gradually found his rhythm. With his sharp spikes and precise placement, he recovered from a 4-6 deficit and established a solid lead, locking the first game at the end of a tense game.Lakshya looked in control in the second game and even built a comfortable lead midway through. However, Wu Jialang reversed at the last minute and saved multiple match points, dragging the game into the deciding game.“But yeah, I thought I was ready again in the third set, gave it my all and was happy with my performance in the third set,” he added.“Tactically, I played the right game in both sets, and yeah, it was just the last few points where I didn’t follow the plan and just made too many simple mistakes. But again, it’s important to switch off, forget about the second set, forget about the first set, and just play the third set with the same effective game plan.”In the decider, Lakshya quickly regained control and took an early lead, dominating with strong defense and quick offense. While his rivals struggled to keep up, Lakshay was well ahead and ended the race with ease.“I feel really good on the pitch, especially the last two games, and yes, now it’s time to recover again, there’s a tough game tomorrow so only 24 hours and then give it your all,” he added.
