Kyle Loftis’s sudden death has shocked thousands of his fans and family. On Thursday, many of the 1,320 video fans flocked to show support for his longtime collaborator and close friend Matt Vrbanac. Vrbanak is also rumored to be a partner of Loftis, having worked closely with the motorsport icon for many years. He shared an emotional statement on social media.
Reflecting on Loftis’ personality and generosity, Vrbanak wrote: “To know Kyle was to love him. He was such a genuine person who wanted to see everyone smile and make sure they were having a good time no matter what. Kyle was one of those people who would help anyone, no matter what, if he could in any way.”
He also acknowledged the strong reaction from fans and supporters following Loftis’ death.
“My feed is filled with people posting pictures and kind words about him, and while it’s hard to see pictures of him now, it’s nice to know that he had a positive impact on the lives of so many people he touched during his lifetime,” Vrbanac wrote.
The longtime 1320Video personality added that he plans to stay away from social media for some time while he grieves.
“I will continue to strictly limit my time on social media for the foreseeable future, but I want to thank each and every one of you for your kind posts and stories about Kyle,” he added. “I’d also like to thank everyone for all the messages they’ve sent, I’ll never be able to reply to them all but they mean so much right now.”
Loftis launched 1320Video in 2003 and later expanded the brand to YouTube and social media platforms. What began as underground street racing coverage eventually grew into one of the largest motorsports-focused online digital brands, attracting millions of fans around the world.
The platform is known for its racing coverage, custom car builds, high-performance vehicles, and racing celebrities from across the United States. Fans and other creators often credit Loftis with helping bring street racing content into mainstream digital entertainment.
After news of his death broke, many supporters revisited old 1320Video videos and shared memories of Loftis and Vrbanak from racing, car racing and filming trips around the country.
As tributes continue to spread online, many in the racing community have also highlighted the important role Vrbanac played in helping to build the 1320Video brand alongside Loftis. Archived content and social media posts often show the pair appearing together at car events and road trips related to the company’s rise.
Nebraska authorities previously confirmed an investigation was underway following Loftis’ death, but officials have not publicly revealed further details.
