Former reality star days later Joseph Dugger His wife Kendra was also arrested after being detained on charges of molesting a young girl in 2020. Both men were charged with the same misdemeanor counts. Kendra, 27, was transported to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Arkansas at around 5 p.m. local time. She was released around 6:19 p.m.
Meanwhile, Joseph Duggar’s cousins had very different reactions to his and Kendra’s arrest. Cousin Amy Duggar King was overcome with emotion.
“I don’t know what’s going on, our local news says there are more arrests,” the 39-year-old said in a video posted to her Instagram Story. “I don’t know, I just think everyone should know there’s more to this story. But I don’t know what it is.”
She then posted a photo of a black screen without providing any further explanation. Amy then praised the victim’s courage.
She added in a statement to Us Weekly: “My first thoughts are with the victim, a child who deserved to be safe and surrounded by people she could trust. The courage it took for her to come forward, especially after carrying such a heavy weight for so many years, cannot be overstated. It is the kind of courage that deserves the most respect.”
She spoke about the hateful comments she received on Friday.
“I’m not going to put up with hateful, horrible comments for no reason. It’s 2026, okay? No one has time to be the mean and hateful people who are trying to tell you the truth and trying to show empathy to the victims. If that’s all you have on my page [for]then there will be no place for you on it, so I will happily block you. “
Jill Duggar Dillard, who stars on the TLC reality show “19 Kids and Counting,” spoke out about her brother’s arrest.
“Our hearts go out to the innocent teenage victim of this unspeakable crime and her family,” she said in a family statement Thursday.
“We strongly condemn the abuse. We support the rule of law and hope that justice will be served. We pray that God will give her strength, comfort and hope that she will receive all the help and support she needs and deserves in the days ahead.”
The statement further read: “We love our sister-in-law Kendra and our four nieces and nephews and pray that they feel loved and supported during this time as we cannot imagine the indescribable pain they are feeling as they process and grieve everything.”
The charges come nearly five years after Joseph Duggar’s brother Josh was convicted of downloading child sex abuse images.
