New Delhi: Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to begin a four-day visit to India in Mumbai on Friday, a visit seen as key to strengthening bilateral ties between New Delhi and Ottawa. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday shared details of Carney’s first official visit to New Delhi, including a meeting with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the agenda for discussion between the two democracies.Carney’s visit marks a major diplomatic shift in Ottawa’s approach to India. Prime Minister Modi had earlier invited the Canadian prime minister after months of strained relations between the two countries, especially during the tenure of former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
