In Connecticut court documents obtained by Page Six, Elliott filed a request to terminate the marriage. ABC Moored on June 20, 2025.

Josh Elliott and Liz Cho first met while working at ABC in the early 2010s. Elliott was a reporter for “Good Morning America” from 2011 to 2014, while Cao has been with WABC since 2003. After two years of dating, Elliott proposed to Cao during a trip to Europe.
They were married in Montecito, californiaIn July 2015, approximately 70 close friends and family members attended. The marriage marks the second for the pair, who both have a daughter from a previous relationship.
Liz Cho initiated an aggressive discovery request seeking comprehensive financial records and personal communications. She requested documents such as bank statements from January 2020, travel receipts and any correspondence regarding the relationship. Cho is looking for information about “money spent” and “property given” to other romantic partners.
Elliott was employed at NBC Sports before moving to CBS News, serving as CBSN’s lead daytime anchor in March 2016. His tenure in this role was short and challenging, lasting less than a year. In February 2017, he publicly announced his exit to take a larger role at CBS News, reportedly surprising executives.
Shortly thereafter, cbs news announced that they were “parting ways” with Elliott.
Elliott and Cao have two Portuguese water dogs and share a marital home in Connecticut, further complicating their separation. Their legal representatives clashed over discovery requests, with Elliott calling Cao’s request unreasonable and harassing. A source told Page Six that these requests are common in divorce proceedings and that there was “no evidence” of infidelity.
Elliott also accused Cao of listening to his phone calls, searching his personal belongings and neglecting the dog. Both parties are scheduled to appear in court on March 20, 2026.
