SRINAGAR: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday filed charges against 10 persons accused in the “white collar” terror module case. One of them, Umar Un Nabi, was killed in the Red Fort blast last November. The other nine accused are: Arif Nisar Dar, Yasir Ul Ashraf Bhat, Maqsood Ahmad Dar of Nowgam, Irfan Ahmad Wagay of Shopian, Zameer Ahmad Ahanger of Ganderbal, Muzamil Shakeel Ganaie of Pulwama, Adeel Ahmadrath of Kulgam, Shaheen Saeed of Lucknow and Tufail Ahmad Bhat of Batmaloo. All these people were registered at Nogam police station in Srinagar.“This case highlights the evolving and complex nature of terror plots, including the misuse of professional institutions and digital platforms,” the SIA said. The agency said that on October 19, 2025, Nogam was found to have posted provocative and threatening posters “intended to spread fear among the public, disrupt public order and directly challenge India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.” The statement said the operation was part of a larger and well-planned terror plot aimed at reviving the banned terrorist organization Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.The defendants formed a highly clandestine organization that was actively involved in radicalization, recruitment and operational preparation to carry out terrorist attacks across the country. They actively spread extremist propaganda through digital platforms and conducted material procurement and experimentation activities related to the manufacture of explosives, including in residential buildings and facilities associated with Farah University. The SIA said that through a comprehensive, evidence-based investigation, it had successfully dismantled the entire terrorist network and its supporting structure. “The investigation uncovered damning and irrefutable evidence; including recoveries, digital forensics, scientific analysis, and corroborating witness testimony that firmly establishes each defendant’s complicity, active participation, and coordinating role in the conspiracy.“
