Jammu: J&K deputy minister Surinder Choudhary has sought jammers and bulletproof vehicles to upgrade his security cover following the March 11 attack on National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah. In a bid to immediately review Chaudhry’s security cover, his OSD has written to the SSP (Security Service) seeking the reinstatement of a jammer vehicle that was withdrawn from his fleet for repairs six months ago.The OSD expressed displeasure over the lack of response to Chaudhry’s earlier request for a bulletproof vehicle for Chaudhry’s visit to Nowshera. The letter also raises the demand for replacement of old vehicles, the official said.Chaudhry was accompanying Farooq to a wedding where the former chief minister miraculously escaped being shot at close range by Kamal Singh Jamwal (63), who was arrested on the spot.
