JD Vance no longer bickers on social media like he used to. ‘Real reason’ angers White House

A report in The New York Times claimed that J.D. Vance was inactive on social media at the suggestion of Susie Wiles.

Vice President JD Vance No one has been fighting his critics on X lately. According to the New York Times, the real reason was that White House chief of staff Suzy Wells advised him not to get involved in petty disputes on social media because it was beneath his dignity. But now White House spokesman Steve Chang says this never happened and it’s all fake news. “This is not true. We denied this to the New York Times and they refused to publish our quote. Totally fake news. This so-called ‘conversation’ never happened,” Zhang said.According to the New York Times, Vance used to frequently scroll through his phone during meetings. President Trump also posts frequently on Truth Social, but he doesn’t reply to people online, but Vance used to reply. According to the report, “Trump’s chief of staff, Suzy Wells, recently advised Mr. Vance to stay away from social media for a while, as did other officials in the West Wing because of the fight taking place below his office,” the report said.JD Vance recently stated that he is suspending X during Lent (the penitential preparation for Easter that includes fasting, abstinence, and almsgiving in imitation of Jesus Christ’s fast in the wilderness) that begins on February 18 and ends on April 2. But he said he still hasn’t reinstalled X on his phone.“I think it’s one of those things where not having that distraction makes me more productive,” Vance said recently. “When you have five minutes, you’re not scrolling all the time. I can actually read something instead of, you know, scrolling or being distracted by X.”However, Vance said he’s looking forward to reinstalling X due to social media giving the original opinion. “I live in such a crazy bubble,” he explains. “I travel with the Secret Service all the time. If you think about how many unplanned interactions I have in a week, it’s almost zero because I live in such a bubble.”“I think one of the benefits of social media is that it actually gives you access to raw, unfiltered opinions, and that’s one of the things that I need to hear as a political leader,” he added. “So I’m definitely going to reinstall it, but I’m enjoying the little break I got from it.”
