US Vice President Vance said on Friday that he is “obsessed” with investigating government information about unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and believes aliens are actually demons.“I haven’t spent enough time to really understand it, but I will, believe me. I’m obsessed with it,” Vance told podcaster Bennie Johnson with a laugh.“I have three more years as vice president. I will get to the bottom of the UFO files,” he added.Vance’s comments came after Johnson asked about President Donald Trump’s February order directing federal agencies to begin “identifying and releasing” government documents related to UFOs and aliens. Trump said the move was “based on the tremendous interest that people have shown,” the same month former President Barack Obama said aliens were “real” even though he had not seen them in person. Trump later told reporters that Obama “provided classified information and he shouldn’t have done that.”Regarding the nature of UFOs, Vance told Johnson, “I don’t think they are aliens. I think they are demons,” describing them as the Christian understanding of “celestial bodies that fly around and do weird things to humans.”There is currently no evidence of intelligent life beyond Earth, but interest in UFOs has increased in recent years as the U.S. government investigated reports of unusual aircraft over concerns that foreign powers may be testing advanced technology.According to Agence France-Presse, in March 2024, the Pentagon issued a report stating that there was no evidence that the unidentified aerial phenomena were alien technology. Many of the reported sightings were later determined to be weather balloons, spy planes, satellites, or other normal activity.
