ISL: Habas leaves Inter Kashi with immediate effect; assistant coach steps in

New Delhi: Antonio Habas has left Kashgar Inter Milan with immediate effect, TimesofIndia.com has learned. The Spanish coach announced the decision on social media. He has been with the club for two seasons, leading the team to the top flight.“Chapter Ended: Mission Accomplished,” Habas wrote on Instagram, with the caption: “Trust is built by keeping promises, and unfortunately, trust is lost when those promises are not kept.”

The club confirmed the Spaniard’s contract until the end of the season, but decided to leave with two games remaining. Assistant coach Abhijit will coach the promoted club against Mohun Bagan Supergiants on Tuesday.Habas joined Inter Kashgar in 2024 and led the club to the I-League title the next season. This makes him the only coach to win both I-League and I-League. indian premier league (ISL) title. The 68-year-old made the scathing remarks after his team lost 3-0 to Punjab FC last month. “The situation at Inter Kashgar is very, very complicated and there are many problems at the club… We need to discuss the situation of the players and staff with the club owners because it is impossible to participate in the International Super League,” he said.“I am very, very sad about this situation. We have been fighting 100 per cent since last season and now there is a possibility that players and staff will not get paid. It is not possible,” he continued.However, a club official attributed the comments to the Churchill brothers’ legal challenge leaving the club in a difficult legal position.Inter Kashi, currently ranked 10th in the points table, will end their season on May 17 against SC Delhi.
