Iran cyberattack: White House fact-checks California drone attack accusations; ‘Deliberately calling the police’

White House rejects Iran threat report

The Trump administration on Thursday dismissed reports that Iran had threatened to attack California in retaliation for ongoing incidents. us– Israeli military operations.

White House press secretary Carolyn Leavitt criticized a report by ABC News, urging the network to retract it. According to reports, the FBI has issued a warning to California police departments about possible Iranian drone attacks on the West Coast.

Levitt said the story was based on false or incomplete information and was based on an email sent to local law enforcement.

“ABC News should immediately retract this article and report because it provides false information and knowingly warns the American people,” Levitt wrote in response to the network’s report.

“They wrote this article based on an email sent to local law enforcement in California regarding an unsubstantiated tip. The email even stated that the tip was based on ‘unsubstantiated’ intelligence. Yet ABC News omitted this key fact from their story! Why?” she added.

California officials say there is no ‘imminent threat’

Additionally, California Governor Gavin Newsom addressed the situation earlier and said officials were not aware of any immediate danger to the state.

“I have been coordinating with security and intelligence officials, including @Cal_OES, to monitor potential threats to California, including those related to conflicts in the Middle East,” Newsom wrote on X.

“While we are not aware of any imminent threats at this time, we remain prepared for any emergency in our state,” he added.

Officials continue to monitor the situation closely while security and emergency response teams prepare in case any real threat arises.
