In the brief clip, he can be seen holding a pistol while radio chatter in the background mentions “shooting.” This video was originally linked to his Snapshot Before the account gains widespread traction on various social media platforms. However, HT.com was unable to independently verify the authenticity of the viral video or the gun flashed in the clip.

Does Akhilesh Chetla Ravi hold an F-1 visa?

According to the video circulated on social media, La was maintaining an F-1 student visa in the United States and working illegally at the off-campus store depicted in the video.

F-1 Under U.S. visa regulations, students are strictly restricted from employment outside their educational institution and prohibited from engaging in unauthorized work.

US Attorney Andrew Branca Show responded to the video saying: “He also handled firearms in a criminally reckless manner.”

Another commented: “If the reports are true then this is a serious situation. Displaying firearms in public could cause legal issues, especially for people on student visas.”

“@grok Can a US immigrant on a student visa buy or own a gun?” asked a third user.

“Social media is not a safe place to show off weapons or illegal activity. There could be serious legal consequences for him,” another said.

“Deport him. He is an enemy of the people,” said a fifth.

Some users tagged U.S. agencies, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and State Department officials, in seeking investigations. Many posts called for action, with some users saying “he must be deported”.

Who is Akhilesh Chetra Ravi?

Ravi is originally from India and completed a degree in Management Information Systems from Hood College in Maryland in May 2025. His name is included in the official graduation program for the college’s graduate degrees.

His Instagram account, which previously had the username @akhilesh.ch_98, was changed to a private account shortly after the video gained widespread attention.

The incident has sparked new discussions about U.S. immigration enforcement and gun control for non-citizens, particularly students holding F-1 visas.
