Indian man, family’s sole breadwinner, dies of heart attack in Florida: ‘Working tirelessly for a better life in America’

Sunil Kumar Gundrai worked for Capgemini in Tampa and died last week. Sunil tragically passed away from a sudden heart attack late at night on May 7, 2026, leaving behind a grieving family and two young children whose world was forever changed.“Originally from Gadwal in Telangana, Gundraj came from a modest background where education and hard work were valued. The fundraiser describes how he was inspired by his father, a public school teacher, and determined to build a stable future in America.“Sunil came from a humble beginning in Gadwal, Telangana, where education and hard work were highly valued. Inspired by his father, a public school teacher, Sunil worked tirelessly to create a better life for his family in the United States. Every sacrifice he made was motivated by a dream – to provide the best future and education for his children.”The page noted that Gondre was the only earning member of the family, and his sudden death left his family struggling to cope while away from relatives and support systems.“As the only earning member of the family, Sunil’s unexpected death left his wife and children facing tremendous emotional and financial hardship, away from their extended family and support system.”A fundraising campaign has been launched to help the family with immediate and long-term needs, including living expenses, funeral expenses and the education of their children.Funds raised through this event will help provide: ⁠ Immediate living and emergency expenses, ⁠ Funeral and related arrangements, family and daily household needs, ⁠ Long-term educational support for his two young children – realizing Sunil’s most cherished dream.Organizers are appealing for public support and say even small donations can make a difference.“No donation is too small. Every donation, every share and every prayer can make a meaningful impact and help this family regain stability and hope amid an unimaginable tragedy.”As of Sunday, the fundraiser had raised $64,553 of its $200,000 goal, with 789 donations received so far.
