In 2023, Khan, who is also the Prime Minister of Pakistan, was sentenced to 14 years in prison in a corruption case. The former captains called for comprehensive medical care, a transparent legal process and humane conditions for the 73-year-old.“We respectfully urge the government of Pakistan to ensure that Imran Khan receives: Immediate, adequate and ongoing medical care from a qualified specialist of his choice to address his reported health concerns.“Humane and dignified conditions of detention consistent with international standards, including regular visits by close family members.
