‘I’m relieved to know that Trump and First Lady are safe’: PM Modi says there is no violence in democracy

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Expressed relief Sunday that U.S. president was safe Donald TrumpFirst Lady Melania Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance following the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.“Following the recent security incident at a Washington, D.C., hotel, I am relieved to learn that President Trump, the First Lady, and the Vice President are safe and sound. I offer my best wishes for their continued safety and well-being. Violence has no place in a democracy and must be unequivocally condemned,” he said on X.The shooting occurred during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C., when a man armed with a shotgun tried to breach security near the main screening area. He shot a Secret Service agent, but the agent was protected by a bulletproof vest and was not seriously injured. Panic spread through the crowded hall, with hundreds of guests hiding under tables while security guards rushed in. The U.S. Secret Service quickly took the suspect into custody and all senior officials, including Donald Trump, were safely evacuated.
