former indian cricketer Akash Chopra High praise for Ravi Bishnoi’s decisive performance rajasthan royalsIn IPL 2026, they narrowly defeated the Gujarat Titans in their sixth consecutive victory. He also said the leg-spinner was undervalued at auction and deserved a higher price. On April 4, Gujarat chased 211 in Ahmedabad but failed due to Bishnoi’s touch. The wrist-spinner took figures of 4/41 in four overs, with his batting at crucial moments tilting the match in Rajasthan’s favour. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra reflected on Bishnoi’s worth and performance. “Ravi Bishnoi, we said at the auction that he was sold very cheaply – Rs 70 million was cheap. He should get Rs 10-11 crore. Acquiring him for Rs 7 crore was a brilliant acquisition. He took four wickets and ended up changing the situation as all the important wickets were to his name. “ Chopra also particularly praised Tushar Deshpandehe finished under the final pressure and sealed the game. “Tushar Deshpande came into the team and Brijesh Sharma was out, what a difference it made in the end as Tushar Deshpande was in between victory and defeat. Tushar Deshpande executed those yorkers perfectly. Thumbs up from both hands for executing under pressure,” he commented. Deshpande finished with figures of 1/24 in three overs and kept his composure in the final over, conceding just four runs while dismissing Rashid Khan when Gujarat needed 11 off 6 balls. Earlier in the innings, Dhruv Jurel played brilliantly and scored 75 runs off 42 deliveries to set the stage for Rajasthan’s innings. Chopra praised his maturity, especially after being promoted this season. “Before that, Dhruv Jurel. They made a big decision this season and played him at No. 3 and he was the absolute star. He batted almost till the end. He scored his first Test century only on this ground. Very good guy. I love him a lot. I was very happy when he performed well. And then their two openers. In my opinion, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal The most explosive opener in this league,” he said. Along with Jurel, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (31 off 18) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (55 off 36) gave Rajasthan a strong start. Chopra, on the other hand, pointed out flaws in the Gujarat chase, suggesting that better planning could have changed the outcome. “GT, this match is yours. There were issues with the batting. Of course, Shubman Gill’s injury didn’t help, but wickets were falling at regular intervals. I think it was a bit of a haphazard chase. If you had done a little better, you could have won this match,” Chopra remarked. Despite Sai Sudharsan’s 73 off 44, Gujarat lost momentum after his dismissal. Starting from a strong position of 107/1 in 10.3 overs, the innings fell apart, allowing Rajasthan to complete a dramatic comeback.
