“The most mentally draining thing is that despite applying across the country, there’s just silence. At this point, I really don’t know if it’s the market or where I am, visa Sponsorship issue, or something else entirely,” the Reddit user wrote, asking for help from the community.

At a time when Donald Trump’s administration has been taking steps to combat H-1B and OPT fraud, the post has attracted widespread attention for a number of reasons.

However, most of the replies were filled with anger, urging him to return to his home country. There is a common belief that having three years of experience is not an advantage, especially in the field of data engineering. Many Reddit users said the situation was clear: the temporary worker on a temporary visa was no longer needed in the United States and he should return home.

“Not even a call – it means your skills are worthless and no one is interested in your experience. You want a job in data engineering, good luck, there are thousands of unemployed candidates in the market. Better pack up and go home before you run out of savings,” one person commented.

Another netizen said: “Go back if possible because the first round of recruitment is over.”

“Data…(populate with anything) the field is saturated and it cannot accommodate an infinite number of people. Seven out of 10 master’s students come from this background,” said a third.
