Government withdraws Jan Vishwas Bill from Lok Sabha to amend certain provisions

New Delhi: The government on Tuesday withdrew a proposed legislation – the Jan Vishwas (Provisions Amendment) Bill, 2025 – from the Lok Sabha that sought to amend certain laws to legalize and rationalize criminal acts to further strengthen trust-based governance.Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal introduced the troop withdrawal bill, which was passed by the House of Representatives on a voice vote. The bill has been withdrawn, according to a select committee report. The bill is expected to be reintroduced after incorporating the select committee’s recommendations.Pending bills can be withdrawn with the permission of the House of Representatives.
