New Delhi: After Canada, India on Thursday also announced Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney’s four-day visit starting from Friday, saying the visit comes at an important time for the normalization of bilateral relations between India and Canada. The government said Prime Minister Modi and Carni had earlier agreed to pursue a constructive and balanced partnership based on mutual respect for each other’s concerns and sensitivities, strong people-to-people ties and growing economic complementarities.“The upcoming meeting between the leaders of the two countries will provide an opportunity to reiterate the positive momentum and shared vision of India and Canada in building a forward-looking partnership,” the MEA said in a statement.
Carney arrived in Mumbai on Friday on his first official visit to India. He will hold a bilateral meeting with Modi in Delhi on March 2. In Mumbai, Kani will attend separate business events and interact with Indian and Canadian CEOs, industry and financial experts, educators, and Canadian pension funds in India. The MEA said Modi and Carni will review the progress achieved so far in various areas of the India-Canada strategic partnership, building on their previous meetings in Kananaskis (June 2025) and Johannesburg (November 2025). neural network
